Week Notes – April 23, 2025

, ,

Slow week, off week? I’m never entirely sure. Still reeling from taxes and a changeup in pharmacology.

On Work:

Going through a lot of the old documents that made up OutWord’s core offerings a few years ago – Into The Abyss and Own Your Distortion – just to see what is still relevant. Fortunately, it all still matters even though it stands to need a solid “but now with AI doing what it’s doing.” It was never about copywriting, it was always about having the gumption to say what you want to say.

Voice, more or less.

This week was a bunch of planning for what I plan on being a “photo studio popup” for May. Fellow artist Alex has some space in his building that he is granting me for a trial run for the month of May, with the intention of signing on for a few months after. My aim is to bank enough with photography in May to support the studio fees for the next six months.

More to come.

Speaking of art things, Sunday was Easter so I naturally spent it in a workshop getting messy with chalk pastels. The idea was to learn to “paint” with the medium, blending colors, learning to work with the various textures and grits of different paper and hardness of chalks.

My sneakers, once black, are now speckled with colors.

Preparing to go out of town this weekend, which means I need to pick up some books from the library at some point (a few selections are severely overdue). The goal for the weekend: do nothing much.
